With this blog I aim for world domination!

The name of the blog is pretty self explanatory, Diary of a Mentalist (that's me: Mentaler the Mentalist) and this is my on line diary. I aim to get a huge following of loyal Bloggees across the world and then the plan is that eventually someone will have to realise my potential for superstardom (after all, how could they not?) and whisk me off to a land more suited to someone of my stature!!!

The truth is that I was doing a bit of on-line research for the nightmare project from hell, got bored and decided to create a blog and moan to the world about all my petty problems.

Now that I've actually set it up though I'm pretty excited. I think I'll post to it as often as I can and hopefully someone out there can get some enjoyment from hearing a little about my life.

I'll begin then by telling you a bit about myself. I'm 17, I'm Irish and I'm in my first year of college. I study English, Film and Philosophy and am hoping to work as a journalist when I graduate.
I've always liked to read and have read widely since I was a child. I used to write stories and poems when I was little and am still haunted to this day by a poem I once wrote entitled "The pixie" (several copies of which still, unfortunately survive, and are in the possession of my mother!!).
It is such traumatic experiences as this (namely being ridiculed for my creative genius) that have caused me to become somewhat of a literary recluse. I continue to write poems but would never admit to it and keep them safely hidden from the prying eyes of my family.
Speaking of my family, I have two brothers and two sisters, all of whom wreck my head at certain times.
I also have a stalker problem but I'll get to that later.
Right now I have to return to my research project or risk being beheaded by the most awful (and obviously sexually repressed) 20 something year old, female, powertrippy, lecturer ever! Take my word for it, she's nasty!
